Whether you're stationed in the U.S. Or overseas, Shopmyexchange gives you access to the same tax-free pricing as the brick-and-mortar exchange. You can browse items, check inventory, and place orders using your MyExchange credentials.

Understanding the costs of Shopmyexchange

Shopmyexchange charges no monthly fees, no per-transaction fees, and no hidden costs for typical use. The platform earns revenue through a small margin on exchange transactions, absorbing the cost of infrastructure and support. For comparison, a typical civilian online retailer might charge $5 to $15 for shipping, but Shopmyexchange offers free standard shipping on orders over $49, with expedited options at cost. The total cost for a shopper is simply the price of the item, plus applicable state taxes where required, but military exchanges are exempt from most state sales taxes, so most orders remain completely tax-free. This means that a $100 purchase on Shopmyexchange costs you $100, while the same item on a commercial site could cost $108 or more after tax and shipping.

However, there are edge cases where fees may apply. If you use a third-party payment service or request expedited shipping to an APO/FPO address, certain surcharges could appear. Getting started with Shopmyexchange

Creating your Shopmyexchange account takes about eight minutes if you have your military ID or eligible veteran documentation handy. You will need to provide basic personal information, a valid email address, and proof of eligibility such as a DoD ID card or a Veteran Health Identification Card. The system does not support accounts created without eligibility verification, so temporary passes or guest checkout are not available. Once you submit the form, a verification specialist reviews your details, usually within one business day, and you receive an email with your login credentials.

If you prefer to skip the online application, you can also register in person at any military exchange customer service desk. The staff will verify your eligibility on the spot and activate your account immediately. This method does NOT apply to retired or disabled veterans who are not enrolled in the DEERS system; they must upload documentation via the online portal. We recommend keeping your eligibility documents in a safe place because you will need to re-verify your status every two years, a policy designed to protect the integrity of the exchange benefit.
